Hi there!
I’m Sarah Lauterbach, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am a recovering perfectionist, beach lover (Atlantic only, Pacific is too cold), fur baby owner (two shelter dogs and cats), and mother to two young children. I am quite the bookworm and enjoy teen fiction, non-fiction, and Stephen King.
My teen years were rough, for myself, and especially for my parents. I know my parents would have benefited from having a guide during those exciting yet exhausting years of parenthood. As an intern, I found the clients that I connected with the best seemed to struggle with raising their teens. I found my passion in working with families. Teenagers are their own breed in that they are not fully adults yet they aren’t children anymore. They can be challenging to work with and of course to live with but ultimately they want love just like the rest of us.
I am originally from the East Coast (North Carolina) but have called California my home for the last ten years. I have lived abroad (England) and went to college in the Northeast (Pennsylvania). I graduated with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University in 2013.
